Research Day is a featured track in the PAFP’s annual Spring CONNECT Conference, which also includes the Residency Impact Grants (RIG) Summit, the PAFP’s Annual Business Meeting, the spring FM Essentials CME Summit and a Celebration of Excellence if Family Medicine awards ceremony.

Event Objectives

PAFP hosts Research Day to promote family medicine research

Event Objectives:

  • To foster research activities among family physicians, residents, and medical students.
  • To encourage practice-based research and quality improvement projects.
  • To foster the development of research and presentation skills.
  • To provide a forum in which physicians, residents, and medical students can present their research projects.

  1. Review Presenter Guidelines, note deadlines and requirements.
  2. Submit your abstract via submission portal above.
  3. Register for the PAFP’s Spring CONNECT Weekend. Registration for spring 2026 is not yet open.

Important dates & deadlines

  • Abstract submission deadline: Monday, January 26, 2026 
  • Registration deadline for Research Day at CONNECT Conference: Friday, February 13, 2026
  • Confirmation of acceptance: Friday, February 27, 2026
  • Submission of oral presentation PPT slides: Friday, March 21, 2026
  • Research Day event: Saturday, April 4, 2026

The Mark Connelley, MD, Award for Best Research Project honors the memory of PAFP member and past Research Day participant, Mark Connelley, MD (Williamsport), who was killed while serving in the Persian Gulf War.
